Sheila Keaise is the founder and Executive Director of Community Innovations and Activities Coordinator at St. George Rosenwald School. Both positions require building community development and educating the community at large.
Community Innovations is a nonprofit organization that focuses on parents, children, and the community by implementing new and life-changing projects. These projects encourage people to meet, interact, play, and grow in academia, music, literacy, spirituality, writing, and finance in a positive and productive manner. St. George Rosenwald School is also a nonprofit organization that aims to preserve and honor the history of the St. George Rosenwald School. It also seeks to promote awareness and understanding of its significance in advancing African American education and community development.
She believes the three most influential qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that shaped her journey are having communication skills, her writing abilities, and learning the art of storytelling.
Sheila advises that for those who are just starting out, it is important to put your best effort into everything you do, offer assistance to those who require it, and be generous in sharing your talents, as they develop over time.
